Become a Volunteer

There are many ways to be a Guardian Angel.

You can sponsor a cat or kitten, provide a foster home, help out at adoption information events, be an adoption counselor, and more.

Would you like to help? Below you’ll find descriptions of just some of the roles you can play and ways you can contribute to the well-being of these needy cats and kittens.

DONATE

Your donations help us do everything humanly possible to ensure the well being of these cats, including screening for infectious diseases, spaying and neutering, and providing rabies, and other appropriate vaccinations.

Here are just a few of things your tax-deductible donation can pay for:

SPONSOR A CAT OR KITTEN

Would you like to sponsor a rescued cat or kitten? Put their name in the “Comments” section when you submit your payment and we will make sure your donation goes to help that specific cat.

Your help goes a long way

Engine was brought to Guardian Angels Cat Rescue after getting caught in the fan belt of a Jeep. She has since recovered from surgery and is very happy in her new home!

NOTE: As a general policy, Guardian Angels does not set limits on the amount of veterinary care which it will provide to a sick or injured cat to return it to a state of good health prior to placing it in a home.

FOSTER CAREGIVER

Do you have room in your home (and in your heart) for a cat or kitten to stay while waiting for its life-long home?

Foster caregivers are key to the success of Guardian Angels Cat Rescue. They provide love and understanding, appropriate training, and a caring atmosphere. This “lap-raised” approach is what prepares each cat and kitten for its successful adoption into a new home.

What do foster cats & kittens need? The simple necessities: food, water, litter, and a clean, safe, healthy environment. GACR provides all of the food and medical care. Plus the training you need and a Foster Coordinator who is available to help you recognize potential problems. We’ll even provide the litter box, cat toys, etc.

Foster parents typically care for a cat from a week to several months, depending on how long it takes to find an appropriate life-long home.

We also ask foster caregivers to provide transportation to and from adoption information days on a regular basis until the animal finds its life-long home. Adoption Information Events are usually held on Saturdays from 11:30AM – 3PM in either Wayland or Sudbury.

OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Can you transport cats and kittens to Saturday Adoption Information Events? Or deliver supplies to foster caregivers? Want to help out by organizing and holding fundraiser events such as a yard sale, bake sale, Tupperware party?

Have another idea for an event or effort to help raise money on behalf of GACR’s rescued cats and kittens?
